Police respond to incident at Vernon motel

On late Friday afternoon, Vernon police officers descended on a motel in the 3200 block of 25th Avenue in response to an alleged weapons complaint.

On April 24, at roughly 3:30 p.m., the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP was advised an individual at the motel was causing a disturbance and was in possession of an alleged firearm, according to the Vernon RCMP in a news release.

"Numerous frontline officers attended to the area and arrested one person without incident. A search subsequent to the arrest did not locate any firearm and the individual has since been released without charge," according to the news release.
