Kamloops resident wins $50,000 on Scratch & Win ticket

After previously winning $21,000 on a Scratch & Win ticket in 2003, a Kamloops resident decided to try her luck again, twelve years later.

Julie Severn purchased a ticket that caught her eye at Westsyde Gas & Convenience, and discovered she had won $50,000 before she'd even left the store.

“I had just bought my tickets and I found out right there at the store,” Severn said in a press release.

“I couldn't believe it. As soon as I knew I was a winner, I was a ball of nerves."

She called her husband, telling him to come to the store.

"I didn't want to do the excitement alone," she said. "He was freaking out and was very excited.”

Severn plans on putting her winnings towards her retirement plans.
