Fog causes cancellation, delays at YLW

KELOWNA – The heavy fog that settled over Kelowna Monday morning is affecting both arriving and departing flights at Kelowna International Airport.

YLW spokesperson Jenelle Hynes says so far they have only had to cancel a Westjet flight to Vancouver but more are possible.

“It’s pea soup here,” she says. “We were having zero visibility for a little bit but it is supposed to be burning off later today.”

The weather forecast for Monday predicts the fog will dissipate around noon.

Hynes recommends travellers and those conducting pick-ups check with the YLW website to ensure there have been no last minute changes to the schedule.
