Cops seize drugs, cash during raid at Kelowna residence

Kelowna RCMP officers found a large amount of illicit drugs and cash while executing a search warrant last week.

On April 29, Kelowna police officers executed a search warrant at a residence on the 2300-block of Lillooet Crescent related to an active criminal investigation into suspected drug trafficking in the area, according to an RCMP media release.

"During the search, police seized a quantity of suspected illicit drugs, believed to be fentanyl, methamphetamine, psilocybin and cocaine as well as a significant amount of cash," NCO-in-charge of the Special Enforcement Team RCMP Cpl. Nick Brodeur said in the release.

Two people were initially taken into custody during the execution of the search warrant and the matter will be submitted to Public Prosecution Service of Canada for consideration of charges, RCMP said.

If you suspect criminal activity in your neighbourhood, contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or if you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
