One person taken to hospital after collision on Highway 5 in Kamloops

One person was taken to hospital after a crash on Highway 5 at Halston Avenue this afternoon in Kamloops.

Peter Darbyshire, communications officer with B.C. Emergency Health Services, says three ambulance units were dispatched to the area after receiving a call at around 4 p.m. today, May 13.

He says one patient was transported to hospital, although he is unsure of their condition.

A fire truck and an ambulance can be seen on a DriveBC camera at the intersection and the highway appears to be closed.

Calls to Kamloops RCMP and Kamloops Fire Rescue have not been immediately returned.
