Dr. Cornel West to speak at TRU
KAMLOOPS – There's about 50 free tickets left to see Dr. Cornel West speak at Thompson Rivers University Thursday as part of the annual Common Voices Lecture Series.
West is a well-renowned professor at Harvard and Princeton Universities, philosopher, political activist and author. He's also known for his appearances in The Matrix movies as well as spoken word albums and his radio show with Tavis Smiley called Smiley and West.
West authored books about his experiences called Race Matters, Democracy Matters and Brother West: Living and Loving Out Loud.
The event, expected set to run from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, will be held at the university's Grand Hall. To pick up your ticket, visit the TRU Student's Union Desk. Tickets are available to both students and members of the public. There is a limit of two tickets per person.
