Kelowna’s Scandia Golf & Games reopens after initial closure due to pandemic

Those who are looking for something to keep their children busy can now play a round of mini-golf as Scandia Golf & Games has re-opened after initially closing due to the pandemic.

The mini-golf courses, go-karts and batting cages are open daily from 12-8 p.m. The arcade remains closed until further notice, according to a statement from the Scandia staff and management in a Facebook post.

Scandia has also implemented new social distancing measures in line with the guidelines outlined by B.C. health authorities.

This includes:

• Maintaining gaps between customers on the courses
• Installing floor markers
• Providing separate entrance and exits from facilities
• Golf balls, clubs, bats and other surfaces will be disinfected after each use
• Limiting the number of staff on-site and monitoring their health
• Using disposable shower caps underneath helmets
• Installing sneeze guards at tills
• Installing hand sanitizing stations

Staff is also encouraging customers to bring their equipment, like their own helmets and putters if possible, according to the Facebook post. They also ask that customers refrain from loitering and retain a safe distance from one another.

The mini-golf business has been in operation since 1979.
