Sun Peaks reopens for summer hiking, biking and golf

Sun Peaks Resort has announced will be welcoming guests this summer to enjoy open-air biking, hiking and golfing.

Throughout the month, the resort will be modifying its normal operations to ensure social distancing protocols are met to keep guests and the community safe.

“We are thrilled to be able to open for summer and allow people to get outdoors and recreate in the safe environment of the mountains. We have worked diligently to develop an operating plan that thoughtfully meets guidelines while helping play a role in providing an outlet for guests after what we have all been through in recent months,” Aidan Kelly chief marketing officer of Sun Peaks Resort says in a media release.

The golf course will open to members on June 13, and then open to the general public on June 26. The bike park and alpine hiking trails will also start with a limited opening for pass holders, and welcome those folks on June 26. The general public will be welcomed to enjoy those activities beginning on June 29.

Restaurants, hotels and retail stores are also looking at plans for reopening and plan to welcome guests back in a phased approach.
