City of Penticton’s ‘sunshine list’ got longer in 2019

Four more City of Penticton staffers made the ‘sunshine’ list for 2019.

The city’s statement of financial information figures were released today, June 12, showing the number of employees paid more than $75,000 in annual compensation is up to 126 from 122 in 2018.

Amongst city councillors, Julius Bloomfield took home the most in remuneration and expenses combined, with remuneration of $25,685 and expenses of $9,555 for a total of $35,239.

The bulk of Bloomfield’s expenses ($4,353) came from his attendance at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference, of which he was the only Penticton councillor attending.

Mayor John Vassilaki took home a total of $81,059, $77,472 in remuneration and $3,587 in expenses.

Topping the list of paid staff was general manager of infrastructure Mitch Moroziuk at $190,038.38, Chief Financial Officer James Bauer at $180,858.33 and Chief Administrative Officer Donny van Dyk at $176,200.54.

A total of 56 city employees took home pay packets worth more than 100,000 in 2019.
