Environment Canada warns of snow on the Okanagan Connector

Environment Canada is warning of possible snow on the Okanagan Connector tonight and early tomorrow morning.

It may be mid-June but according to a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada, there is a good chance of wet snow above 1,600 metres on Highway 97C from Kelowna to Merritt starting tonight, June 15, and continuing into tomorrow morning.

Environment Canada says the cold weather will move inland and spread precipitation over the southwest Interior. The exact amount of rain or snow will vary and depends on the intensity and duration of the precipitation. No more than four centimetres of snow is expected.

Drivers are warned the weather in the mountains can change suddenly and driving conditions could become hazardous.
