Kelowna Rockets blast away Ice

KELOWNA – The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Kootenay Ice 5-1 on Saturday night, winning their final game of a four game road trip and improving to 3-0-0-1 on the trip.

Five different Rockets scored in the game as Kelowna jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the first period of play.

Rourke Chartier scored his 41st goal of the season and Leon Draisaitl had a goal and an assist in the victory.

Cole Martin, Gage Quinney and Dillon Dube also scored for the Rockets while Tyson Baillie and Riley Stadel each had two assists in the win.

Kelowna claimed seven of eight points on its road trip through the WHL Central, improving to 39-8-3-1 on the season, first overall in the WHL, as they return to home this weekend.

Kelowna hosts Kamloops Friday night to begin a home and home between the two teams, who also play Saturday in Kamloops.
