VERNON – A redesign of the school bus system in the Vernon School District means changes for students who count on a bus for a ride to class.
Budget constraints are behind the changes, according to a media release from superintendent of schools Joe Rogers.
The release doesn’t go into details about the changes, which take effect June 19. Parents will be getting information from their child’s school about the new routes or new bus stops.
The school district provides transportation for students who live more than 2.4 km from their school and the children may have to walk up to 2.4 km to the nearest bus stop.
More information on the changes to the bus routes and bus stop can be found on the district’s website.
