RCMP using ‘chemical agents’ in search of home in Chase
Kamloops RCMP were searching a home in Chase Tuesday morning and warned people to steer clear of the area.
The Kamloops RCMP’s Targeted Enforcement Unit is executing a search warrant at a home on 3 Avenue in Merritt, and officers are using chemical agents in what RCMP describe as a high-risk operation.
Residents in the area might notice a smell in the area and it might cause irritation but police said it isn’t harmful, RCMP said in a media release.
Police have not said what chemical agents are being used but promised to release more information to the public “in due course.”
