Construction will force overnight closure of Highway 1 exit in Kamloops

Drivers travelling Highway 1 in Kamloops Sunday night may need to take a detour.

The eastbound Highway 1 exit onto Highway 5 North will be closed from 8 p.m. Sunday, July 12, to 6:30 a.m. Monday, July 13 for rehabilitation work, according to a ministry of transportation media release.

Passenger vehicles are advised to detour via Comazzetto Road, Valleyview Drive, Vicars Road and Highway 1 westbound to the Highway 5 North exit.

Commercial vehicles are directed to use Kokanee Way as a U-turn route on Highway 1 and continue to the Highway 5 North exit.
