Red sea downtown for Boogie

Thousands of people filled Victoria Street in Kamloops Sunday morning for the 16th annual Daily News Boogie. These young runners took part in the one-kilometre run around downtown while many other runners and walkers ventured in to North Shore and Westsyde for the 5-kilometre, 10-kilometre or 21-kilometre routes.

After a quick send-off to the half-marathon runners a warm-up 'boogie dance' was held at the main stage, which saw Mayor Peter Milobar and MLA Terry Lake join organizer Jo Berry and several others guide participants through a warm-up dance before sending the Mini Boogie runners on their way.

The Boogie began in 1998 as an all-women's event with 68 participants.
