Vernon Starbucks location closed as 2 staff await COVID-19 test results
A Vernon Starbucks will be closed for the next 10 days after two staff members began experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
A Starbucks spokesperson said the two employees were self-isolating and awaiting their test results.
In a written statement, Starbucks said its Anderson Way location in Vernon had closed after two staff members began experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus last week.
"We take seriously our responsibility to keep our partners and customers safe," reads the statement.
"Both partners were sent home and went to be tested, and we initiated a deep clean, following all recommended guidelines from public health authorities. Both partners and other partners who have worked in close contact are self-isolating and are being paid for the time they miss during the self-isolation period."
In the statement, Starbucks says the store will reopen July 31.
