Temperatures up to 35 C in the Okanagan, Thompson

You may want to find a cool spot to hunker down.

Environment Canada issued a heat warning for South Thompson, the Okanagan, the Shuswap, and Boundary and the heat is expected to turn up right about now.

Temperatures reaching 35 C combined with overnight lows near 18 C are expected, the national weather agency said in a statement.

These hot temperatures are expected today through Tuesday.

"A strong ridge of high pressure will continue to build over the southern interior of British Columbia leading to hot conditions," Environment Canada said. "Temperatures will continue to climb over the next two days with the hottest temperatures expected to be on Monday and Tuesday."

On Wednesday temperatures will begin to moderate as the ridge of high pressure weakens.
