RCMP investigating Kamloops murder

A 39-year-old Kamloops man was fatally stabbed this weekend, and Mounties are investigating.

The Kamloops RCMP received a 911 call 10:34 a.m. Aug. 1 and that led them to a residence on Clarke Street in Kamloops.  Upon arrival, police found a 39-year-old male who had been stabbed, with the male transported to the Royal Inland Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries. At approximately 2 p.m. the same day, RCMP arrested a 37-year-old man in relation to this incident.

"The Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit has taken over this case and are at the early stages of this investigation," Staff Sgt Simon Pillay, Kamloops RCMP Plain Clothes Commander, said in a press release.

"There is currently very little information that can be provided to the public at this time, however, based on our current understanding of this incident, there is no danger to the public.  The alleged suspect and victim are known to each other."
