Crews are working hard to douse two wildfires in the Merritt Fire Zone today, Aug. 3.
The Dry Lake wildfire in the Merritt Fire Zone is estimated at 22 hectares in size and is located 24 kilometres northwest of Princeton.
BC Wildfire information officer Gagan Lidhran said 29 personnel are receiving support from aerial resources and 11 pieces of heavy equipment. No structures are threatened at this time.
The other fire in the area is the Coldwater River wildfire, which is located 27 kilometres southwest of Merritt and adjacent to Highway 5. Lidhran said it is estimated at seven hectares in size and 10 personnel are currently on-site working to establish control lines.
No structures are threatened at this time.
