Driver seriously injured after hitting power pole in Kamloops

The driver of a small car who hit a power pole in Kamloops early this morning was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Kamloops RCMP say emergency crews were called to the crash at Parkcrest Avenue and Nicolani Drive at approximately 12:33 a.m. today, Aug. 14.

The driver, who was the only person in the car, lost control and hit a power pole while driving on Parkcrest Avenue, according to an RCMP media release.

Firefighters used the jaws of life to remove the trapped driver from the vehicle, who was seriously injured.

No word yet what caused the crash.
