Bail issue for alleged murderer set for Kelowna court
Accused killer Jamie Paul Wolanski will have a bail dispute argued in Kelowna.
Wolanski has been in custody for breaching bail conditions set after he was arrested for allegedly killing Penticton teen Andrew McAdam on June 11, 2011. A new date will be set on May 2 for Crown and defence to debate the bail issue in Kelowna.
The former Penticton Secondary School student appeared in Penticton Provincial Court today via video. Wolanski still faces an Aug. 12 trial by judge and jury for the second degree murder charge.
The bail breaches came after he was arrested and released. Wolanski allegedly broke bail the first time on May 22, 2012 with one count of using illegal drugs and for possessing crystal meth. Authorities learned he was using after he was taken to hospital. Medical and police staff struggled to control Wolanski. Crystal meth was found on his person.
