UPDATE: Missing Lake Country man located

A man reported missing in West Kelowna has been found safe.

The man, whose personal details have now been removed from this story, went missing while on a hike in the mountains around West Kelowna.

The Lake Country man was reported missing Aug. 21, and was located with minor injuries and received medical attention on scene.

“The man was spotted in rough, forested terrain by our RCMP Air Services helicopter who liaised with frontline officers, Central Okanagan Search and Rescue and Police Dog Services to safely assist the man out of the area,” RCMP spokesperson Const. Solana Paré said in a press release.
