Enderby City Hall closed after council attendee tested positive for COVID-19

Enderby’s City Hall will be moving to strictly remote operations after someone who recently visited tested positive for COVID-19.

A person attended council chambers on the evening of Aug. 17 and later tested positive for the virus. As a result, the City Hall will only offer services remotely until Aug. 31.

According to a release from the City, the Interior Health Authority has determined there is a risk of exposure for anyone else who was in the room at the same time. People who are contacts of a confirmed case must self-isolate for 14 days and monitor their symptoms.

Public access to City Hall will be closed for the remainder of the month as most of the City Hall staff, as well as mayor and councillors, are self-isolating and working from home. Remote services are available through telephone, email and the mail slot at City Hall.

If you have a time-sensitive and essential item that needs to be picked up from City Hall, you must schedule an appointment by calling 250-838-7230. No in-person meetings will occur until the health authority gives the go-ahead.
