City of Kamloops employee tests positive for COVID-19

The City of Kamloops is confident its safety measures are working after a staffer tested positive for COVID-19, and no other employees were required to self-isolate.

“This is a situation where City employees were near someone who had tested positive for COVID,” chief administration officer David Trawin said in a media release. “However, public health officials found that, because of the physical distancing and cleaning protocols that we have put in place, none of the employees who may have been exposed are at risk and they are not considered to be contacts.”

The City is reminding residents to stay vigilant in their efforts to practice social distancing, cleaning and hand washing, especially as flu season approaches.

Anyone concerned about their health is urged to contact 811.
