Two more Snowbirds aircraft departing Kamloops today

Two more Canadian Forces Snowbirds CT-114 Tutors are departing Kamloops this morning to return to their home base in Saskatchewan.

The departure to 15 Wing Moose Jaw today, Sept. 10, is dependant on the weather and operational requirements, so the timing of the departure may vary, according to a Canadian Air Division Public Affairs news release.

The remaining aircraft will depart Kamloops in the coming days.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canadian Forces asks that the public not come to the airport to see the departure.

"The Snowbirds are deeply appreciative of the support received from Kamloops and local First Nations in the wake of the tragic accident on May 17, but to ensure the health and safety of community members, we ask that people not gather at the airport," the release reads.
