Police snuff out crime outside Walmart

Crime was underfoot last night in the Walmart parking lot.

Just before 11 p.m. mounties responded to a report of two people behaving suspiciously in a pick-up truck.

"The two appeared to be snorting something off a piece of paper," RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk said.

Police located the vehicle as it was heading southbound in the 3200 block of 27th St. The driver of the truck was identified as a 32-year-old man from the Salmon Arm area.

"He was found to be in possession of 111g coke powder, 1.9g heroin, 1.4g marijuana, 4 cell phones and a jamming device," Molendyk said, adding the device could be used to jam police radios and cell phones.

The suspect is being held in custody for court later today on drug related charges.
