Kelowna woman scores $675,000 lottery win

Vanessa Mina of Kelowna got lucky when she bought a scratcher at a Kelowna grocery store.

Mina won $675,000 scratching a Set for Life lottery ticket at her kitchen table with her husband, according to a BC Lottery Corporation media release issued today, May 8.

She bought the ticket at Real Canadian Superstore in Kelowna.

“I asked my husband how many symbols I had to match, even though I knew it was three,” she said in the release. “I had to make sure, I kept repeating, ‘Is it three?’ His mind went blank.”

She said the win feels like a dream and called it surreal.

“I still can’t believe it,” she said.

Mina is going to travel overseas and buy a home with the winnings.
