Shot fired in Kamloops

Kamloops Mounties are investigating an incident that involved a gun being shot into the air.

Mounties were called at 9:50 p.m. Sept. 26 for shots fired in an alley of the 400 block of Fortune Drive.  Upon attendance, it was learned a suspect had an interaction with the occupants of a vehicle and then allegedly fired a single shot into the air while the vehicle sped off, Sgt. Kelly Butler said in a press release.

The suspect then retreated to a nearby residence.

The residence was contained and safely evacuated with the assistance of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team. Several people from a suite in the residence were taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP  or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-2477.
