Dial-a-dope operation shut down

VERNON – A man suspected of being involved in a Vernon dial-a-dope operation was caught by police Tuesday.

Officers from the Vernon RCMP and Targeted Police Unit stopped the man, 32, in his vehicle and arrested him. His vehicle was searched and police found heroin packaged for sale, money and a cell phone that kept ringing while Mounties were completing their task.

The man appeared before the Justice of the Peace and was released on conditions. He is expected in court February 20 to face charges of possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking.
