RCMP hope someone recognizes suspect in Penticton counterfeit case
Police are searching for a woman who allegedly used counterfeit American cash to shop in Penticton.
The suspect went to a business and bought some things with the fake U.S. cash sometime in May, according to a press release from police issued, June 17.
She was caught on surveillance footage and police have released her photo in the hope that someone can identify her.
RCMP describe the suspect as a Caucasian female who looked 40 to 50 years old. She had a distinct tattoo of a bracelet-style rosary on her left wrist and a cross tattoo on the back of her right hand.
“We’re asking anyone who may recognize this individual or has information related to this investigation to contact the Penticton RCMP,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Grandy said in the release.
Police are advising businesses to make sure employees know how to identify fake Canadian and American cash.
