Masked man robs Oliver liquor store

OLIVER – RCMP are hoping someone recognizes the masked man in still images taken from the security camera footage at an Oliver liquor store.

The clerk at the Spud’s Liquor Store on Main Street was held-up Sunday at around 3:10 p.m. by a man wearing a black ski mask.

The suspect stole cash from the till and took off when the employee pushed the panic alarm.

Police say no weapon was seen.

Sgt. Ken Harrington says the robber was last spotted running north on Main Street.

Despite police patrols, there was no sign of the suspect.

Police released images from the security camera footage in hopes that someone will recognize the suspect.

He’s about 5’10” tall and about 260 lb. Along with the black ski mask, he was wearing white pants, a black t-shirt with the Playboy logo on the front and was carrying a large black bag.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation are asked to call the Oliver RCMP detachment at 250-498-3422 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
