Shuswap woman caught in Sorrento using licence plate from 1966
A woman from Adams Lake is facing charges after police caught her behind the wheel without a driver's licence, and using a 54-year-old plate in Sorrento last month.
Chase RCMP were tipped off by a witness who noticed an odd looking licence plate on the woman's car at Munro's Pharmacy, Sept. 24.
"We showed up to check it out and found out that the female was a prohibited driver and that the licence plate was actually a B.C. plate from 1966," Sgt. Barry Kennedy told iNFOnews.ca.
The 32-year-old woman was arrested for prohibited driving and got a ticket for displaying an invalid licence plate. Her vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
The woman is well known to police, and is scheduled to appear in court in Kamloops Nov. 10.
