Rain in the Okanagan weekend forecast

There’s plenty of rain in the Okanagan forecast over the next few days, including this weekend.

Today, the Okanagan can expect mainly sunny skies with clouds building this afternoon. There is a 40 per cent chance of showers late this evening and overnight, with a high today of 10 Celsius and a low to 6 C.

Winds are expected to be south today at 30 km/h gusting to 50 near midnight.

Temperatures are expected to rise Friday, along with a 60 per cent chance of showers in Vernon and Kelowna and south winds at 30 km/h gusting to 50 around midnight.

Penticton should see mostly cloudy conditions Friday.

Friday should see a high of 13 C in Vernon and Kelowna, 18 C in Penticton, along with a low of 1 C.

The weekend looks wet in the Okanagan, with a mix of sun and cloud Saturday giving way to increasing clouds and rain by nightfall. Saturday’s high should reach 8 C with a low of 4 C.

More rain is forecast for Sunday, with a 60 per cent chance of showers, a high of 8 C and a low of 3 C expected.

A mix of sun and cloud should prevail Monday, with a high of 9 C. There is a 30 per cent chance of rain Monday night with a low to 1 C.

Tuesday should see more clouds and a 30 per cent chance of showers with a high of 9 C and a low of 2 C expected.

Clouds and a high of 10 C are forecast for Wednesday.

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. As an airborne geophysical surveyor I travelled extensively around the globe, conducting helicopter borne mineral surveys.

As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
