Impounded Ferrari more than doubled BC highway speed limit
Officers with the BC Highway Patrol took a Ferrari off the road after it more than doubled the speed limit.
The Italian supercar was clocked going 180 km/h along Highway 99, which was 100 km/h over the posted limit, according to BC Highway Patrol.
After the driver was pulled over by an officer on a motorcycle, they were handed a $483 ticket and they’ll be forced to pay the towing and impound fees.
“That money could have bought Gucci sunglasses or a lot of cappuccino,” a highway patrol July 4 social media post read.
The car appears to be a Ferrari 458, which can reach top speeds exceeding 300 km/h, according to the company website.
It’s not clear where the vehicle was caught by police, but the route’s 80 km/h zones are largely in the Sea to Sky corridor.
