Man gets 3 1/2 years in prison for fatal stabbing in Whistler, B.C.

A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison for manslaughter in the stabbing death of another man in Whistler, B.C., in 2021.

Homicide investigators say Dedaar Jhooty of Delta, B.C., was sentenced by a B.C. Supreme Court judge on Tuesday.

Police say Jhooty received a court-imposed DNA order as well as a lifetime firearms prohibition.

He pleaded guilty to manslaughter in July 2024 after being arrested two years earlier in the stabbing death of 26-year-old Henry Molina.

Police say Molina died in August 2021 after arriving at the Whistler Medical Clinic.

Police say that the investigation found the victim had been attacked on a Whistler street and an “extensive video canvas” of the neighbourhood helped investigators identify Jhooty.
