Kamloops RCMP arrest four more demonstrators at Trans Mountain pipeline work site

Police arrested four more demonstrators at the Trans Mountain work site in Kamloops this past weekend.

Officers responded to a report that demonstrators had gathered at the work site on Airport Road and were preventing operations at the site Saturday, Oct. 17, around 6:30 a.m., according to an RCMP media release.

Four women, ranging in age from 29 to 58 years old, were transported to the Kamloops RCMP detachment for processing and released on conditions, police said.

The four women are facing charges for allegedly being in civil contempt of the court order which prohibits demonstrators from preventing operations at the site.

The four women are scheduled to appear in court Jan. 20.
