Kamloops RCMP arrest man following report of domestic violence

Police responded to a report of domestic violence and arrested a man at a Kamloops hotel this morning.

Kamloops RCMP were called to the hotel in the 600 block of Columbia Street West this morning, Oct. 21, at around 8:40 a.m.

According to an RCMP release, initial reports indicated a woman was subject to the violence and there was a possibility of a weapon present. Officers approached the room and the 32-year-old male suspect was taken into custody without incident.

A weapon was located at the scene and as a result, the suspect remains in custody while police continue the investigation.

RCMP said this was an isolated incident and there is no further concern for public safety.
