KELOWNA – The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Victoria Royals 7-3 on Friday night at Prospera Place, kicking off a three game homestand with a convincing victory over their BC Division rivals.
Cole Linaker and Cole Martin each had a pair of goals in the win while rookie netminder Michael Herringer earned the win in net as the Rockets improved to 43-9-3-1 to remain in first overall in the WHL.
Rodney Southam, Gage Quinney and Riley Stadel also scored the Rockets while Leon Draisaitl and Madison Bowey each had three assists. Nick Merkley chipped in with a pair of helpers.
The Rockets are back in action Saturday night when they host the WHL East Division Moose Jaw Warriors.
Kelowna will also play host to Kamloops next Wednesday before heading to Victoria for a pair of games next weekend.
