
iN NUMBERS: Summer of music in Okanagan, Kamloops
Whether you have a few hundred bucks in your pocket or just a ball of lint, there’s plenty of live music to enjoy in Kamloops and the Okanagan.
Some of the biggest music festivals of the summer have already passed, but the dog days aren’t over just yet.
Here are the numbers:
- 22: Parks Alive free concerts in Kelowna, there’s still time to catch the last few.
- 62: Music in the Park shows in Kamloops, one every day in the summer and nearly three times as many as Kelowna had.
- 3: Free Downtown Sounds concerts left in Vernon this summer.
- 1: More Music in the Park show in Penticton this Friday, Aug. 15.
- 8,500: People went to Rock the Lake at Prospera Place this year.
- 83: Drug-impaired driving tickets and investigations at Shambhala Music Festival.
- 375: Bucks for a ticket to the Canadian Country Music Awards in Kelowna.
- 15: Year anniversary of of Armstrong’s MetalFest was this summer.
- 32: Performers were at Penticton’s Peach Festival, including icons like Men Without Hats and local talent like Kelowna’s Crush XO.
- 544: Dollars for tickets re-sold at StubHub to see pop-punk band Teenage Bottlerocket at their sold-out show at Jackknife Brewing this weekend.
- 5.1: Million dollars are going into upgrading Prospera Place in Kelowna.
