Rollover near Vernon sends man to hospital

VERNON – A rollover early Saturday morning just south of Vernon sent the driver to hospital.

At about 5:40 a.m., RCMP and the Vernon Fire Department were called to the crash.

Captain Doug Imrich with the fire department says it happened in the southbound lane on Highway 97 just south of Okanagan College’s Vernon Campus.

The man was trapped and the jaws of life were used to get him out of what was left of his vehicle.

No word yet on the cause of the rollover.

Vernon RCMP are investigating.
