CALGARY — The Calgary Flames named Dave Lowry one of their assistant coaches on Tuesday.

Lowry will replace Brad Larsen, will not be returning to Calgary for family reasons.

Lowry, from Sudbury, Ont., spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach with the Seattle Kraken.

He previously spent time as an assistant with the Winnipeg Jets, Los Angeles Kings and Calgary throughout his coaching career.

Lowry played 19 years in the NHL (1985-2004), amassing 1,084 games split between the Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, Florida Panthers, San Jose Sharks, and Flames.

He was a sixth-round pick (110th overall) by the Canucks in the 1983 NHL draft.
