Cyclist dies after being hit by truck in Montreal, police say

MONTREAL — A cyclist has died after being hit by a truck in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal borough.

Police received numerous 911 calls about the incident, which happened around 9:20 a.m. Sunday near Parc Avenue and Bernard Street West.

Police spokesperson Julien Lévesque said first responders found the 31-year-old woman with serious injuries.

According to police, she was rushed to hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Lévesque said police will be interviewing the driver involved, a 49-year-old man, as they work to piece together what happened.
