Alouettes sign wide receiver Tyler Snead to two-year extension through 2027

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes signed wide receiver Tyler Snead to a two-year contract extension on Tuesday.

Snead, who ranks among the CFL leaders this season with 789 receiving yards on 62 catches, will be under contract through 2027.

The 25-year-old American — who’s listed at five-foot-seven, 172 pounds — also has three touchdowns this year.

He joined the Alouettes in 2023 and helped the team capture its eighth Grey Cup title.

In 35 CFL games, Snead has made 142 receptions for 1,830 yards and eight touchdowns.

The Alouettes also signed American running back Tiyon Evans to a contract. Evans previously participated in the Calgary Stampeders’ training camp.

“Tyler has been our leader this year at receiver,” said Alouettes general manager Danny Maciocia in a statement. “He has shown consistency and has always been able to adapt, no matter who was throwing him the ball. We’re happy that his journey will continue with us.”
