Serious vehicle incident causes traffic delays, partial closure of Highway 97

The Kelowna RCMP is warning drivers about a serious incident along Highway 97 that has caused part of the road to close this morning.

The incident closed the southbound lanes near Duck Lake, according to the RCMP, and emergency crews remain on scene in the 8000-block of Highway 97 North in Kelowna.

Traffic along Highway 97 for both northbound and southbound lanes will be affected for an undetermined time as officers continue their investigation, according to the RCMP. Currently the highway is open to single-lane traffic only.

Police are asking any motorists affected by the incident for their patience as emergency crews work to assess and clear the scene.
