QMJHL roundup: Lecompte nets winner in Sagueneens’ 4-3 decision over Remparts

QUÉBEC — Nathan Lecompte’s goal at 10:04 of the third period snapped a 3-3 tie and lifted the visiting Chicoutimi Sagueneens to a 4-3 win over the Quebec Remparts in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League action on Sunday at Centre Videotron.

Emile Ricard, Emile Guite and Korney Korneyev also scored for the Sagueneens, who trailed 2-0 after the first period and 3-2 heading into the third.

Eliott Simard, Etienne Desjardins and Cal Uens scored for the Remparts, who outshot the visitors 40-25. Alexandre Taillefer chipped in with two assists.

Netminder Tomas Gagne stopped 37 of 40 shots for the Sagueneens, while Louis-Antoine Denault stopped 21 of 25 shots for the Remparts.

The Sagueneens went 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Remparts were 0-for-2.

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Chad Lygitsakos had a goal and two assists, Mathys Fernandez stopped 31 of 32 shots, and the Shawinigan Cataractes beat the visiting Drummondville Voltigeurs 5-1.

Elias Schneider, Cole Chandler, Yoan Carrier and Felix Lacerte also scored for the Cataractes, who took a 1-0 lead into the third period. Noah McKinnon also chipped in with two assists.

Renaud Poulin scored for the Voltigeurs, who went 1-for-5 on the power play. The Cataractes were 1-for-3.

Both teams had 32 shots on goal.
