Heavy snowfall warning issued for Coquihalla Highway
More snow is heading for the region’s highways and mountain passes tonight.
Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt, and from Merritt to Kamloops, along with the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna this afternoon, Nov. 16.
As much as 15 to 20 centimetres of snow is expected as a moist warm front associated with an intense low pressure area moves over the region, Environment Canada says.
The heavy snow is expected to come to an end by midnight as the warm front moves out of the area.
Motorists can check road conditions at Drive B.C. and be prepared for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
