OHL roundup: 67’s unleash offence in 7-3 win over Greyhounds

OTTAWA — Shaan Kingwell, Brock Chitaroni and Thomas Vandenberg each had a goal and assist as the Ottawa 67’s knocked off the visiting Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 7-3 in Ontario Hockey League action on Sunday.

Jasper Kuhta, Spencer Bowes, Nathan Amidovski and Nic Whitehead also scored for the 67’s, who trailed 2-1 after the first period but led 4-2 heading into the third.

Jordan Charron, Tobias Zvolensky and Christopher Brown scored for the Greyhounds, who were outshot 26-23.

The 67’s went 1-for-3 on the power, while the Greyhounds were 1-for-2.

STING 7 FIREBIRDS 4

SARNIA, Ont. — Jack Van Volsen scored twice and Lukas Fischer added three assists as the Sarnia Sting beat the visiting Flint Firebirds 7-4.

Beckham Edwards, Matthew Manza, Ben Pickell, Cameron Aucoin and Carson Hall also scored for the Sting, who led 3-0 after the first period and 5-3 after 40 minutes. Ryan Brown and Edwards each chipped in with two assists.

Chase Hull, Josh Colosimo, Alex Kostov and Matthew Wang scored for the Firebirds. Charlie Murata had two assists.

The Sting outshot the Firebirds 30-19 and went 1-for-5 on the power play. The Firebirds were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Landon Jackman snapped a 4-4 tie with a goal at 15:49 of the second period to lift the Owen Sound Attack to a 5-4 victory over the visiting Barrie Colts.

Pierce Mbuyi, Jake Crawford, Michael Dec and Nicholas Sykora also scored for the Attack, who led 2-1 after the first period and 5-4 heading into the third. Braedyn Rogers chipped in with two assists.

Carter Lowe, Calvin Crombie, Jaiden Newton and Ethan Armstrong scored for the Colts, who were outshot 45-31. Brad Gardiner and Kashawn Aitcheson each had two assists.

FRONTENACS 2 BATTALION 1

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Kieren Dervin scored the game-winning goal at 19:21 of the first period as the visiting Kingston Frontenacs edged the North Bay Battalion 2-1.

Jacob Battaglia also scored for the Frontenacs, who were outshot 43-24. Frontenacs netminder Matthew Minchak stopped 42 of 43 shots.

Evgeny Dubrovtsev scored for the Battalion. North Bay netminder Jack Lisson stopped 22 of 24 shots.

SPITFIRES 4 GENERALS 1

OSHAWA, Ont. — Ethan Garden had a goal and three assists, Ethan Belchetz and Jean-Christoph Lemieux each had a goal and assist, and the visiting Windsor Spitfires defeated the Oshawa Generals 4-1.

Cole Dubowsky also scored for the Spitfires, who were outshot 36-27, but received superb goaltending from Michael Newlove.

Sam Roberts scored for the Generals, who trailed 2-1 after the first period. There was no scoring in the second.

The Spitfires went 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Generals were 0-for-4.
