VANCOUVER — Heavy rainfall is in the forecast for parts of British Columbia’s south coast as a frontal system pushes through the region.
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the North Shore section of Metro Vancouver, as well as for Howe Sound stretching into Squamish.
It says up to 60 millimetres of rain can be expected before the system passes Monday afternoon.
The weather agency says the heavy rain is expected to reduce visibility and create pooling water on roads, making travel challenging for motorists.
The provincial River Forecast Centre has issued a high streamflow advisory across much of B.C.’s south coast and all of Vancouver Island.
The centre says the same advisory is also in effect for parts of the Interior from the Cariboo region and the Shuswap east toward Alberta.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published Sept. 29, 2025.
