Join the fight against breast cancer in Kelowna, Kamloops

The annual CIBC Run for a Cure is set to take over Kelowna and Kamloops parks on Oct. 5.

CIBC partners with the Canadian Cancer Society each year to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and research. Attendees and can or walk at their own pace. What matters most is participation of our local communities to support all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, which is the most diagnosed cancer in Canadian women.

This type of illness is so prevalent, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully, organizations like this are fighting back. Since 1992, they’ve raised over $500 million in research and nearly 50,000 people across Canada participated in the event last year. This has real life impacts, like a 47% decrease in breast cancer mortality since the 1980s.

Join Canada’s largest single-day, volunteer-led event in support of breast cancer research this Sunday, from 8:20 a.m. to noon at Kelowna’s City Park and Kamloops’ Riverside Park.

There’s still time to start or join a team of runners here.
