A ticket was the only penalty for a Penticton driver who struck a parked car in front of Clancy's Pub Monday night.
A green Ford Focus collided with a parked car in front of the Martin Street tavern some time before 8:45 p.m. says RCMP Sgt. Rick Dellebuur. No one was injured.
“The driver advised (police) he was distracted by pedestrians. He was issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention.”
One witness said the Focus was traveling southbound and rear-ended a maroon minivan parked on the east side of the road.
Witness Robert Conci said the driver attempted to flee the scene but was chased down and stopped by a nearby pedestrian. The owner of the minivan was inside the pub.
"It looks as if both vehicles will need to be towed due to damage," he said.
Dellebuur says both vehicles were towed.
Police and emergency vehicles were on the scene after the collision.
